What we make and source

Six collections, one standard

We keep the range deliberately narrow. Anything we cannot verify, weigh and describe honestly does not go on the shelf — which is why the list below has stayed roughly the same length since we opened.

Hallmarked gold jewellery

Chains, signet rings, bangles, studs and pendants in 9, 14 and 18 carat yellow, rose and white gold. Classic shapes that suit a first gift as readily as a fiftieth anniversary, with plain finishes rather than anything that will date.

From €145 · 9kt to 18kt

Minted gold coins

Single coins and short runs from established mints, supplied in their original capsules and certificates. Popular as birth-year and milestone gifts because the date on the face does the explaining for you.

From €210 · Capsule & certificate

Small bars and ingots

Cast and minted bars from 1 g to 50 g, sealed in tamper-evident cards or supplied loose for setting. A flat, unfussy gift for someone who would rather not be handed a necklace.

From €95 · 1 g to 50 g

Gold-plated keepsakes

Gold-plated and gold-vermeil small objects — bookmarks, keyrings, cufflinks, christening tokens, desk pieces. Clearly labelled as plating rather than solid gold, at a price that makes them sensible for larger guest lists.

From €38 · Plated, stated as such

Engraving & personalisation

Hand engraving on rings, pendants and bar faces; initials, dates, coordinates, a short line of text. We send a proof image for approval before anything is cut, and the proof stage is free.

From €45 · Proof before cutting

Corporate & volume gifting

Repeatable gift sets for service awards, retirements and client thank-yous, from ten units upward. Consistent hallmarking, consistent packaging, one invoice, and a schedule you can plan a ceremony around.

From 10 units · Consolidated invoice

Ready to send

Three gift sets we assemble most often

Each set arrives boxed, with a certificate card naming the metal, fineness and weight of what is inside. Prices below are indicative — the final figure is confirmed in writing before you pay anything.

The First Gift

A gentle starting point for a christening, a first birthday or a thank-you where you want something that will still be in the family in thirty years.

  • 9 carat gold chain or bangle, 40–45 cm
  • 1 g minted gold bar in sealed card
  • Lined presentation box and certificate card
  • Hand-written note if requested

€195 Typical assembled price

The Milestone

For a twenty-first, a fortieth, a graduation or a retirement. A coin carries its own date, so the gift explains itself without a speech.

  • Minted gold coin, 1/10 oz, capsule and certificate
  • 14 carat gold signet ring or studs
  • Engraved initials on the ring face
  • Double-slot box, coin and jewellery together

€640 Typical assembled price

The Weight

For the person who does not wear jewellery. Bars are flat, honest objects and they read as a serious gift without needing any taste to be guessed at.

  • 10 g minted bar, sealed in tamper-evident card
  • 1 g bar in a matching card
  • Engraved bar face, up to 12 characters
  • Leather-look wallet box

€1,180 Typical assembled price

How our pricing works

Solid gold is priced against the published London benchmark on the day you confirm, plus our fabrication and presentation premium, which is stated as a figure in your written quotation. We do not quote a firm price until we have weighed the specific piece in front of you. Bars and coins are supplied as gifts and collectables; we do not offer investment advice, and nothing on this site should be read as a recommendation to buy gold for financial return.

From enquiry to doorstep

Four steps, no surprises

Most orders move from first email to dispatch inside four working days. Bespoke engraving adds two or three days; custom casting adds roughly three weeks.

  1. Tell us the occasion

Send the date, the budget, and anything you know about the recipient’s taste. If you know nothing, say so — that is genuinely the most common start, and we will send two or three concrete options with photographs and weights rather than a catalogue.

  2. Approve a written quotation

You receive the metal, fineness, measured weight, benchmark reference and our premium as a single figure. Nothing is ordered and no payment is taken until you reply to confirm.

  3. Weighing, hallmarking, boxing

The piece is weighed twice by two people, sent for assay marking where it is not already struck, then packed with its certificate card. For engraving, you approve a proof image first.

  4. Insured dispatch

Tracked and insured, signature on delivery. You get the carrier reference the same day it leaves us, and we watch the tracking alongside you rather than leaving you to chase it.

How we work

What “hallmarked” actually commits us to

Gold gifting has a reputation problem, and it is earned. Plated items sold as solid, weights rounded in the seller’s favour, “gold” that turns out to be a colour rather than a metal. These are the practices we hold ourselves to instead, and they are checkable.

  • Fineness is struck, not claimed

Anything over the legal exemption weight carries an assay office mark. Where an item is plated, vermeil or gold-filled, we say so in the item name — never in the small print.

  • Weights are stated to two decimal places

Every piece is weighed on a calibrated scale and the figure goes on your certificate card. No rounding in our favour, and no “approximate weight” hedging.

  • Returns are real and unhurried

Thirty days, unworn, in the original packaging. We refund within five working days of receiving the piece and we pay the return postage if the fault is ours.

  • No financial promises, ever

We sell gifts. We do not advise on buying gold as an investment, we do not forecast prices, and we will tell you plainly if a piece is the wrong purchase for your purpose.

  • Your details stay with us

We do not sell, rent or share customer information, and we run no advertising trackers on this website. The full detail is in our privacy notice.

Questions we are asked most

If the answer you need is not here, ask directly. We would rather answer a blunt question than have you order the wrong thing.

How do I know a piece is genuinely solid gold?

Three things travel with every solid gold order: the assay office hallmark struck into the metal, the fineness figure on the certificate card, and the measured weight to two decimal places. Plated and gold-filled items are named as such on the item itself and on the card, so there is no ambiguity to resolve later.

If you want a second opinion, any jeweller with an XRF tester can verify fineness in under a minute, and we will happily talk you through the reading.

What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?

Insured tracked delivery is complimentary on orders over €250. Below that, delivery is charged at cost and shown as a separate line before you confirm.

Typical transit is one to two working days within the Netherlands, two to four working days across the rest of the EU, and three to five working days to the UK, Switzerland and Norway. Customs duties on non-EU deliveries are the recipient’s responsibility and are outside our control.

Can you engrave something personal?

Yes. Hand engraving is available on ring bands, pendant reverses and bar faces. Initials, dates, coordinates, short lines of text and simple symbols all work well. There is a practical limit of about twenty characters on a ring band and twelve on a bar face.

We send a proof image for approval before anything is cut. The proof stage is free and we will re-cut the layout as many times as it takes to look right.

What is your returns policy?

Thirty days from delivery, unworn and in the original packaging, for a full refund. We refund within five working days of receiving the piece back.

Two reasonable exceptions: engraved items cannot be resold, so they are refundable only if the engraving is faulty or does not match the proof you approved; and bespoke cast pieces are made to order, so they fall outside the standard return window. Both exceptions are stated on your quotation before you pay.

Do you sell gold as an investment?

No. We are a gift studio. Bars and coins are supplied as gifts and collectables, priced against the published benchmark on the day you confirm plus our stated premium.

We do not give investment advice, we do not forecast prices, and we are not authorised to manage anyone’s money. If you are looking to buy gold for financial reasons, a licensed adviser or a bullion dealer is the right conversation — not us.

Can you handle a corporate order with a fixed date?

Yes, from ten units upward. Service awards, retirements, long-service milestones and client thank-yous are the usual reasons. We will build a delivery schedule around your ceremony date and hold stock to it.

Everything ships to one address on a consolidated invoice unless you ask us to split it. Write to info@shipgoldgift.org with the quantity, budget per recipient and date, and you will get a proposal with photographs within two working days.

Is the packaging suitable to give as it arrives?

Yes. Every order leaves in a lined box with the certificate card tucked inside, and the outer postal packaging is plain and unbranded. If you would like a hand-written note included, add the wording when you confirm the order and we will write it out.
